Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
These terms and conditions apply to driving lessons and services provided by Chequered Flag Driving School (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking a lesson, block booking, voucher or test car session you agree to the following.
1. Lessons & bookings
- Lessons are provided by DVSA approved driving instructors in dual-controlled vehicles.
- A lesson starts and finishes at the agreed time. If you are late, the lesson will still finish at the original end time.
- We pick up and drop off at a pre-agreed location within our covered areas.
- Lessons should normally be taken within 30 days of booking unless otherwise agreed with your instructor.
- Block bookings should normally be completed within four months from the first lesson date.
2. Pricing & payment
- Current prices are £40 per hour, £78 for two hours and £370 for a 10-hour block, as shown on our prices page. Prices may change with reasonable notice.
- Block bookings and gift vouchers are paid for in advance and are transferable by agreement.
- Pay-as-you-go lessons are payable at the time of the lesson unless otherwise agreed.
- If a refund is agreed for unused block-booked hours, completed lessons may be recalculated at the normal hourly rate before the unused balance is returned.
3. Cancellations
- Please give at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or rearrange a lesson.
- Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice, or missed without notice, may be charged in full.
- We will give you as much notice as possible if we ever need to rearrange a lesson.
- If your instructor arrives at the agreed location and cannot contact you, they may wait up to 15 minutes before treating the lesson as missed.
4. Provisional licence & eligibility
- You must hold a valid UK provisional (or full) driving licence and meet the minimum eyesight standard to take a lesson.
- You must bring your licence when requested and tell your instructor about any change that affects your entitlement to drive.
- You must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or anything else that could affect your ability to drive safely. We reserve the right to end a lesson on safety grounds.
5. Comfort, safety & conduct
- We aim to provide professional, patient tuition in a safe learning environment.
- Your instructor may stop or rearrange a lesson if weather, vehicle issues, illness, road conditions or pupil conduct make it unsafe to continue.
- Abusive, threatening or unsafe behaviour will not be accepted and may lead to lessons being ended or future bookings refused.
6. Driving tests
- Use of our car for a practical driving test is at our discretion and subject to you reaching the required standard.
- Your instructor may refuse use of the tuition car for a test if they believe you are not ready or there is a safety concern.
- Driving test fees are payable by the pupil directly to the relevant booking service.
7. Theory materials & pupil progress
- Where theory support or learning resources are provided, they are for your own use and should not be shared or resold.
- Your instructor will give honest feedback on your progress and readiness for independent driving.
8. Liability
Our instructors are fully insured for tuition. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
9. Complaints & contact
If you have a concern, please raise it with your instructor first so we can try to resolve it quickly. Questions about these terms can be sent by phone on 07795 285 461 or by email at [email protected].
